K-6 Academics

Priority Placements

K-6th

Priority Placements offers Literacy (reading and writing) and Mathematics and provides this instruction in a 1:1 format or small group fashion (2-4 students). Science and Social Studies is supported in small groups and/or whole group format. Academic support times are also provided. Instruction is individualized and based on the needs of the student(s). Curriculum is determined and created based on current student needs and more information can be provided as your child joins our school.

We offer physical education, health and wellness, and art explorations throughout the week. We plan numerous community experiences and field trips during the year (physical activities, museums, plays, etc.). During the winter we enjoy Fun Fridays that are created/planned by student ideas!

Direct instruction with social skills and life skills happens daily, during planned times and throughout each moment of the day, focusing on the needs of the students. Our team works collaboratively to meet all social-emotional needs. Our K-6th program embraces The Zones of Regulation curriculum that is designed to foster self-regulation and emotional control. Students in our program, at this level, work very hard to manage their feelings day to day and interact with their peers appropriately. Staff support is critical in helping students progress with these necessary skills.
