Priority Placements provides high quality education and human service supports for children and teens
K-12 Independent School in Brattleboro, VT
Our Mission
The purpose of Priority Placements is to provide safe, positive, and predictable outcomes to distressed children and adolescents in need of an educational placement in the Windham County catchment area and beyond.
Our Objectives
Admissions
Students that attend Priority Placements are referred by their sending school team. Our staff reviews the student’s information thoroughly before moving forward with the admissions process to ensure appropriateness of the placement. We then meet as a team and welcome the family/support team and the student to visit the school. Once accepted a plan is put into place to best serve the incoming student. Guardians must complete enrollment forms before students begin.
Academics
Students in grades K-6th are engaged with literacy, mathematics, art exploration and physical education, health, science and social studies, and social skills and life skills. Students have social and behavioral supports throughout every moment of the day. Students in 7th-12th grade follow our course of study including core academics, health and physical education, life skills and social skills, and art education classes. Students are placed in courses that are most appropriate for their academic abilities and track toward graduation. Courses can be adjusted as needed to meet student needs.
